The Eternal Optimist

 
I had a pretty good night last night. I went out 10 pin bowling with my flatmates. Cloud came too. Matt was also there and a friend of Damians' called Neecy. Me Matt and Cloud were on one lane and the other four had the one next to us. I won the first game on our lane then Cloud won the next. So we're even on the bowling. I beat him at air hockey though. Then we decided to go into the casino for a while. I had a few coins so I got 2 $2 coins. I got Cloud to choose a machine and he chose the one with the number 108 becasue that's a lucky number in chinese. I put $2 in and 5 minutes later walked away with $42. I wasn't complaining. Of course I stopped then. I know when to quit when I'm ahead.
Today I decided I needed to do some study. I played on my computer for a while (very effective procrastination) then checked my text messages.
And then it happened again. This time 2 o'clock on an idle saturday. My Grandpa has been put in hospital. Apparently his pneumonia wasn't getting better as we thought. It was just laying low. Apparently he's quite ill. Now I have two grandparents in hospital. YEah, my Granny had a car crash over Easter. She didn't see the traffic lights. Granny's actually in ICU because she has trouble breathing. Apparently if she gets pneumonia things won't be looking good for her and she's quite susceptible right now.
I don't feel like studying anymore. But i should. It'll keep my mind off things.

Well actually it was an idle thursday at about midnight.
Cloud told me that at the end of the semester he might be going back to China. For good.
I fell like the bottom has dropped out of my world. I knew this day would come but I didn't expect it to happen for another year and a half. Not now when everything is so wondeful.
He has to go back because his father is getting older and needs him to help him with the business. See Cloud is going to work for the same company that his father works for. Just a little sooner than originally planned.
He says that his father will probably let him stay until he finishes his degree, but maybe not.
Why now?
